Meet Spogan · Est. 2023
Hello, fellow animal friend.
Spogan — Scottish Gaelic for "paws" — is run by Ann, a native Hebridean Gael, born and bred on the Isle of Lewis. She trained with a foundation degree in Dog Training & Behaviour from the Victoria Stilwell Academy.
Technology & Business is looked after by husband Peter.
They're assisted by stooge/demo dogs Bobby & Ollie the border collies, and young Freddie, the working-line Labrador.
Ann & Peter have shared their life with a variety of animals over the years — dogs, cats, sheep, a ram, a very large pig boar, ex-battery hens, and an ex-racehorse among them.
Spogan grew from a deep empathy for animals, which is why we follow kind, positive methods only. It all started by noticing what worked for our own dogs, including rehomed dogs — some reactive, some written off as "untrainable."
That process started 15 years ago. Then followed years of learning, trying different techniques and working with dogs of friends and family in any spare time. Spogan grew from there, and was established as a full-time business in 2023.
