Spogan Dog Boarding for your Very Important Pooches:  Actually, it’s way more than just boarding..

Location:
Dog guests are boarded in our home and treated as our own. Guest dogs stay with us in our  detached croft house by the shore, in the North Lochs area on the Isle of Lewis.

Dog’s host:
I am a Victoria Stillwell Academy positive trained behaviour focused dog trainer, so your dogs are in good, knowlegable hands at Spogan.  I observe and optimise their dynamic and happiness here.

Our focus:
Only one household’s dogs are boarded at a time to ensure your doggo/s get the focus they need during their stay with us at Spogan, we take a max of 2 dogs. *Boarding dog guests do not overlap with training dogs at Spogan, so guest dogs get full attention.

Exercise & play:
Guest dog get exercise based on their specific need.  They may get a mix of:
*1to1 walks
*pack walks with myown vetted & experienced pack.
*adventure walks with paddling/swimming opportunities.
They have use of our own 4 acres of land and our private 7ft fenced secure paddock.
As a trained behaviour focused dog trainer, I understand the importance of mental stimulation as well as physical exercise for your dog. (Lack of this is where alot of behavioural problems stem from.) So it is ensured our guest get breed specific outlets and brain stimulating activities!

Comfort & Safety:
Guest dogs are kept separate from my dogs by a baby gate to avoid potential friction over terrritory which can occur between unfamiliar dogs. They have access to one end of my house, myown dogs have the other.  As well as myown 3 dogs, we have a dog loving cat and my horses are nearby.  This is a rural area so sheep graze nearby.

Guest dogs sleep on their own, and must be used to that to avoid stressing them and the other animals.
At night, guest dogs are monitored with a night vision nanny camera.

Dogs coming to Spogan for boarding must be flea treated, neutered and vaccinated. (You must show proof of vaccination.)

This service is not suitable for dogs with anxiety, aggression or behavioural issues.  This includes reactivity, lunging or growling at other animals or people, unsettled,destructive or those upset at being left alone for any time.

Guest dogs need to be comfortable left onr their own for 20mins while I take my dogs out for quick solo walks or have to see to my horses.

For dogs with reactivity & behavioural challenges, Spogan Residetial Training aka Bootcamp may be a better option in this situation.

Owners must supply bedding (for familiar smells of home) and food (to avoid upset tummys caused by diet change.)

NOTE, SPOGAN DOES NOT SUPPORT THE USE OF AVERSIVE TOOLS. IF YOU USE THESE, SPOGAN VIP BOARDING IS NOT FOR YOU. IT IS ENTIRLEY POSSIBLE TO TRAIN YOUR DOG WITHOUT THEM, I CAN ASSURE YOU. THIS CAN BE INTRODUCED IN BOOT CAMP BUT REQUIRES OWNER COMMITMENT TO EMBED & PROGRESS NEW HABITS.

2026 Nightly rate:

£39 for 1 dog
£49 for 2 from the same household
