*HARSH TRUTH WARNING* To avoid wasting your, mine and your dog’s time, ask yourself these questions to know if bootcamp  is right for you.

Is keeping your current comfortable, convenient routine and dynamic with your dog more important to you than changing your dog’s behaviour?

Do you believe just picking out some bits of advice from bootcamp, will help enough?

***If yes, bootcamp is NOT right for you.***

Note, when we have worked on improving your dog’s behaviour, hand them back, only for them to go back to their old routine, dynamic and reinforcement, it causes them to fall back into old behaviours.

This is just a waste of everyone’s time.  Sorry if that is harsh for you to read.

SPOGAN GETS RESULT, BUT YOU NEED TO MAINTAIN THE METHODS THAT WORKED FOR US IN BOOTCAMP. BEHAVOIUR CHANGE TAKES MONTHS TO EMBED, IT IS NOT EMBEDDED AFTER A WEEK.

So, if you are still with me.. Here are the details…

What Spogan bootcamp is: Residential training for your dog to work on a training or social difficulty.

• Putting your dog in a routine and schedule right for them and the problem, taking into account your own schedule and their needs.
• Giving them genetic appropriate outlets – a lot of dog behavioural issues we find difficult are due to their frustration; this addresses it.
• I do not allow problematic behaviour to be reinforced. (This usually happens unintentionally by things you are doing innocently.)
• Giving them new habits and alternative behaviours.
• Clarifying communication, as dogs sometimes misbehave due to not understanding what we’re asking
• Teaching a yes and no marker, so dog knows when they’ve done well or not.
• Safe, controlled desensitisation and counter conditioning triggers.

THE AIM OF THIS BOOTCAMP IS TO SHOW YOU HOW THE DOG CAN BE IF THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT ROUTINE, I WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE DONE, THEN YOU TAKE THE DOG BACK AND IMPLIMENT THE NEW ROUTINE.
THIS IS NOT SIMPLY TO FIX THEM AND HAND BACK – UNFORTUNATELY THAT DOES NOT WORK – AS SOON AS THE DOG GOES BACK TO THEIR OLD ROUTINE, OLD BEHAVIOURS CREEP BACK IN AND GET REINFORCED. SO DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG FOR BOOTCAMP IF YOU CAN’T COMMIT TO CHANGING THEIR ROUTINE AS ADVISED. NOTE, IN THIS 5 NIGHT BOOTCAMP, WE CAN ONLY DO WHAT IS POSSIBLE IN THE TIME FRAME. TO EMBED AND PROOF A BEHAVIOUR CHANGE, DOGS TYPICALLY NEED 6 – 8 WEEKS OF CONSISTANT REPETITON FROM YOU.

SPOGAN EQUIPMENT:
NOT USED, SUPPORTED OR ENCOURAGED – prong collars, shock collars, choke collars or leads, grots, headcollars, snout straps, tightening harnesses, striking or trying to hurt or scare the animal.
MAY BE USED – crates, flat collars and leads, harnesses, double ended leads, longlines, tethers, basket muzzle, a no cue and a firm voice.   *Dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations and all issues must be fully disclosed.
