Why trust us
Victoria Stilwell Academy certified, ethically accredited, and entirely reward-based — never a prong collar or e-collar in sight.
Know we have experience with the “impossible” dogs.
Biters, reactors, “untrainable” rescues — we have lived with and turned around all of them. Your dog's issue will not faze us.
What's different
We treat behaviour as a symptom, not the problem itself. Change the lifestyle behind it, and lasting change follows.

Behaviour is never the whole story.
Every "problem" behaviour is a surface symptom of something deeper. Before we talk leads and cues, we look at the whole dog.

In their words
Owners are enjoying their dog more with Spogan support.
My adolescent Labrador, Blaze, has benefitted immensely from the lifeskills sessions at Spogan. Blaze struggles with confidence and I was finding it difficult to build his confidence in everyday situations. Attending lifeskills lets Blaze build his confidence in a controlled and positive way, and I have noticed a huge difference in his behaviour from his sessions.
I would definitely recommend Spogan lifeskills sessions to anyone in Lewis struggling with their dog's behaviour, as their ethos is the perfect way to build the skills your dog is lacking in.
Ann is very approachable and instantly puts you at ease — she has such a gentle nature with dogs and people, so I felt very comfortable asking questions.
Mara is our lab-collie cross, our first dog, who we've had since she was 8 weeks old. She's now 7 months, and our main issue has been her pulling on the lead — as she gets bigger, I've been worried about her pulling me over. Ann was happy to do a one-on-one session with me and Mara, showing me how to work between long and short lead training techniques to help reduce her pulling.
Mara and I are working the lead training into the start of our afternoon walks, and I'm already starting to see a difference. It'll make me far less anxious taking her out near busy roads as she gets bigger. Thank you, Ann!
We had never used any dog boarding before, so it was a big deal leaving our two dogs — but Ann reassured us completely and the experience was great from start to finish. She was accommodating with drop-offs and pick-ups around our awkward ferry times, and the dogs were cared for as well as if they were at home, if not better, with daily exercise and lovely treats.
We got daily updates and pictures which left no doubt that they were comfortable and settled in their new home for the week. We've already booked them in again this year — I'd thoroughly recommend Spogan for dog boarding.
